Embedded Linux professionals and beginners can now benefit from ELinOS's software support for Kontron's embedded modules ETX and X-board. With just a few clicks, an application-specific Linux system for Kontron's modules can be put together without the developer having to have precise knowledge of the internal interrelationships of the target systems. This saves expert knowledge plus a lot of time. Support is currently offered for the modules ETX-P3M, ETX-VE, ETX-MGX as well as X-board.

Phytec joins SYSGO's Custom Board Support Program for ELinOS.

DIGITAL-LOGIC and SYSGO have signed a partnership agreement that includes a Linux port for the Pentium-M-based smartModule( SM855 products. The PC/104-Plus board MSM855 and the EBX board MSEBX855 are also integrated into the embedded Linux development environment ELinOS. The integration into ELinOS provides DIGITAL-LOGIC customers with convenient access to the development of embedded applications under Linux.

The embedded Linux development environment ELinOS 2.2 has been chosen to "Product of the Year 2003" in the category embedded systems from readers of of the German publication Elektronik.

McObject, developer of the eXtremeDB in-memory embedded database, has teamed with German embedded systems innovator SYSGO to offer a feature-rich, cost-efficient development package for embedded Linux applications.

To expand its European commitment, the German SYSGO is taking over the Swedish SESE (Scandinavian Embedded Solutions & Engineering AB). SESE distributes SYSGO's Linux products, the LynxOS real-time operating system and hardware products from Thales, Tews and Polyrack in the Scandinavian countries.

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) and SYSGO have agreed on a comprehensive partnership to integrate their products, including distribution, support and services of RTI products such as NDDS and StethoScope by SYSGO. SYSGO offers the new ELinOS 2.2 in two versions. For beginners, for evaluation and for learning and test phases, the BasicToolbox is still available. For professional use of embedded Linux, the Development Kit was developed with additional tools and a comprehensive support concept.

For the first time, Stäubli Sargans AG is using embedded Linux for the development of a weaving preparation machine for the textile industry. The company Stäubli Sargans AG has worked closely with the Mainz-based Linux specialists SYSGO. All system requirements such as touch operation, network functionality and web server for administration purposes were realised with Linux - for the time-critical parts, the real-time extension RTAI was used.

Honeywell is expanding its building automation solutions with a Linux-based controller. Honeywell commissioned the Mainz-based software house SYSGO to create the system software for the new member of the EXCEL 5000 OPEN family. The core of the hardware platform is based on a PowerPC CPU from Motorola, for which SYSGO developed the board support package, the drivers for the required peripherals and a boot loader. The application software is created in-house by Honeywell.

SYSGO has just completed the verification of a commercial real-time operating system for aerospace applications. The trades and documents ("artefacts") required for certification according to DO-178B Level A were handed over to the client Rockwell Collins, Inc., Cedar Rapids, USA. The project took a total of 3 years to complete.

SYSGO now offers special hardware programs for ELinOS - the most popular development program for Linux in Europe. Both programs are aimed at board manufacturers and OEMs who want to offer their customers a professional solution for Linux.
