SYSGO AG has joined the AUTOSAR Consortium (Automotive Open Systems Architecture) as an associate member. SYSGO will extend its real-time operating system PikeOS with AUTOSAR-compliant interfaces.
AUTOSAR is a development partnership of car manufacturers, suppliers and software houses. The so-called core partners of AUTOSAR are BMW, Bosch, Continental, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, GM, PSA, Siemens VDO, Toyota and Volkswagen. The consortium has set the goal of establishing open standards for automotive electronics in vehicles. The AUTOSAR Runtime Environment (RTE) defines basic components such as the operating system.
"PikeOS v1.3 has already been developed taking into account essential concepts of the AUTOSAR Runtime Environment (RTE), such as software partitioning" explains Knut Degen, CEO of SYSGO AG. "In addition, the topic of software certification is also becoming increasingly important in the automotive industry - we are well prepared for this thanks to our experience in avionics."
